Great functionality

The app works great with GeoPDFs and I can import my own GeoPDFs and use them full featured.

Great App

Been using it for National Forest Motor Vehicle Use Maps while riding off road. Great functionality, ease of use, nice feature updates.

Essential Map App (USFS Hotshot Approved)

This app is essential for work and play. We use this app religiously on our wildland fire crew. I use it constantly to plan, explore, and learn hiking and backpacking routes. This app goes hand in hand with a real map and compass. Well worth the cost and happy to support development of such a great tool. Thanks.

Lame

Cant pinpoint my location on a single PDF map Ive downloaded. It was nice to have the pdf map with me for some OHV trails, but I have to use another app to figure out where I am. Its pretty much worthless.

Billed for a map, cant download it

I bought a map, but some bug in this app resulted in it thinking I had not been billed. I think the bug came about when the App Store requested additional info from me (first app purchase in a long time)

Great app for hiking

Ive hike for many years. I found this the best thing since sliced bread. I downloaded several of the ny/nj trail conferences maps. They were very clearly displayed and easy to follow. The gps traced exactly the hike in took. It allow me to measure distances from point to point. The apps allows me to zoom in on the map, much easier to read than the paper maps. I would suggest getting a battery case or external battery to prolong the phones battery. I could easily hike for several days with the extra batteries. Looking forward to do overnight hikes.

Awesome App

A friend told me about this. He said to use it to be able to read a pdf map, but I installed it and downloaded the free topo maps and it works great. At first, it didnt know where I was but I found out I didnt give it permission to allow it to locate me. That was my fault not the apps. While deer hunting, my friends were using the pdf map from ODFW and I was using the topo map from here. The topo map here is way better than ODFW map.

Customer Service is incredible!

I use this app frequently for mountain bike trails. I love having an off-line map downloaded. Especially when Im out of cell service. I downloaded a map last night. It was supposed to be color but it was just black and white. I emailed Avenza Support at 11:30pm. By 8:30am they had responded and the map was fixed. Thanks Avenza!

Best location app ever!

I love this app! After using handheld GPS systems for years, this app takes the best of those (accuracy & no cell signal needed), but merges it with a nice touchscreen interface, and an excellent catalog of maps. Having well made maps with the nice blue location dot is awesome!

Pretty Good

The maps are great, but the measure tool is so buggy its basically unusable.

Too much money for not a lot of areas

They have a lot of selection but in tiny areas. When I clicked "parks, forest, and grasslands" I got about 20 options for western Washington (the well known hiking, hunting and fishing state) but they were all tiny sections of land and most of them were lakes but no state forests or areas you can possibly hike, hunt, etc. Not even ones you could pay for. The maps cost from 99¢ to $14. Most of the maps you can get at Walmart, DNR, or for free at state parks and Google maps.

Awesome!!!!!

Awesome!!!

Its what I was looking for!!

We do a lot of back road exploring and camping for sometimes weeks at a time with no cellular service. Paired with a Satellite Receiver and my IPad, I can preload all the maps of the area I need. I prefer the older topo style maps, as they show old historical points of interest.

Location not available

Just updated and now get "location not available". Hope it gets fixed soon. Love this app!

Use it every time in Park City

Love this mapping app. A must have for Park City wheres theres over 400 miles of trails.

Best PDFs map app.

Best PDF map app out there. You can buy USGS topo maps, USFS, Trails Illustrated, just about any map you could desire. Some you pay for, others are free. My favorite aspect of this app is the ability to add photos and comments for trip planning and/or during your trip. If you like to explore like we do, you can look over your maps to see places you marked to revisit. This is especially a great app if you are a photographer and were in a hurry the first time through. You can snap a few images, note sun angles and return. Support is usually quick and they have responded well to my questions. My only want is to have this app be Apple Pencil/iPad Pro enabled so I can add tracks and join them. Highly recommended.

THE BEST APP for hiking.

Ive tried many apps for hiking. This app hands down beats them ALL. You have to buy the good maps unless they are free. You can also plan routes on this app as well.

Hidden Gem

The title of this app doesnt do it justice. I wasnt sure what to think at first, but after learning what it can do, I am a huge fan. I was able to open maps from my local parks web page into pdf maps and the have it show where I am via GPS on the maps. They have more maps than you can imagine available in their Store as well. The national geographic trails illustrated are my favorite and initial reason for downloading. The maps doesnt all fit together seamlessly and they dont have an easy online route upload/download system like alltrails. But in some ways, I almost like this better. I feel like I actually have a real map with me, that I know will be there. Other online systems dont seem to work consistently for offline access. This is now my go to resource for all hiking trips.

A good idea but it has a ways to go

Its a nice idea, and when you get a good map the information and display are very nice. However, the maps available are rather limited (especially if you are using this to plan trips) or expensive for the good ones. The free maps arent so useful. The best are the Campmor maps. The search feature with the map store is infuriating. How it searches and displays available maps is illogical, and the fact that the list of maps ends up covering the actual map in the area you are searching makes no sense. Sure would be nice to export and print, rather than to have to carry the device with you.

Resource hog

Decent program, but only has setting for "always access GPS," or "never access GPS." Because of this, it either eats battery power always, or you have to remember to turn the access on when using and off when not going to use it. Would rate it much better if it had three settings like google maps: Always; When using; and Never.
